A lot of you are joining me for the first time and you’re probably wondering “how do I think outside the box?” and questions of that nature. It may not be as hard as you think it is. Well lets start with how do you think outside the box? It’s rather simple actually. Ask “why” a lot.
If you’ve ever had an experience with children they ask “why?” to almost everything. You may also notice that children are some of the most creative people out there. Why is that? Because they question everything. They don’t take “because it is” for an answer. They want to know how it works and understand it and if it doesn’t make sense to them, they change it. As adults we just except “it is” as a reason to leave things be and move on. Not changing meany things in our personal or work lives.
Thinking outside the box applies to every aspect of your life. Work, home, health, family, design, everything. Chances are your life is usually a routine and you have no plans to change it. Let me ask you, why? What if there’s a possibility things could be better if you just question why you do what you do. Don’t take my word for it, go out and ask why about everything. Then if the answer doesn’t make sense to you come up with a solution that does! A solution no one else has proposed yet. Or a solution from another persons idea with a little tweaking. Worst case scenario you annoy a few people while you learn things. Big deal. Try it! Let me know what you learned.
