You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. Words we hear often but, do we ever stop and think about them? How often do you take your life for granted? Probably everyday.
If you’re like most people you probably spend more time complaining about things that are wrong instead of being grateful for the things that are right. Why do we do this? Because we see the things that are right as “oh it’s supposed to be that way.” Right is kind of a standard we hold the things in our life to. But wrong, wrong stands out because it’s not supposed to be that way. You notice it.
How many things can you think of to be thankful for today? Are you happy? Healthy? Have a job? Alive? Breathing? Have a roof over your head? Have friends? If you answered yes to any of those you have at least one thing to be thankful for.
Yes bad things happen but, you should start to recognize the things you have and be thankful for them. And the people too. Life is short and most importantly it’s unpredictable. Your best friend/mother/father/brother/sister/pet may not be here tomorrow. Let them know you’re grateful for them. Because it’s true, you don’t really know what you’ve got til it’s gone but, you could sit down and realize it and be thankful for it while you still have it.
